CO-OP NATION CELEBRATES WOMEN WORKING IN THE COOPERATIVE MOVEMENT, EVERYDAY, WITH THE LAUNCH OF WOMEN IN COOPERATION, A DIGITAL AUDIO MAGAZINE/PODCAST, FEATURING PHENOMENAL WOMEN AND THEIR WORK IN THE COOPERATIVE MOVEMENT
WOMEN ARE DOING THEIR PART IN THE COOPERATIVE INDUSTRY TO CREATE A BETTER WORLD THROUGH THE POWER AND PRINCIPLES OF COOPERATION. WOMEN IN COOPERATION CELEBRATES THE INNOVATION, BRILLIANCE, AND RESILIENCE OF WOMEN WORKING IN THE COOPERATIVE SPACE AS WELL AS WOMEN WORKING COLLABORATIVELY FOR A BETTER WORLD. L.Ahzjah Netjer Simons
Ahzjah is a passionate media publisher, producer, host, and editor with over 20 years in broadcast radio, marketing, communications, and event production. She is also a dedicated humanitarian and inspired empowerer of people. After serving over 15 years in the retail food co-op space, she turned her sights to co-op development on a broader scale throughout the state of Georgia cultivating all types of cooperatives at the Georgia Cooperative Development Center, as a Board member and Interim Co-Director. She is also supporting cooperatives nationally through Columinate and working nationally and globally to establish partnerships and lead P6 initiatives to cultivate cooperation among cooperatives to illuminate the power of cooperation in all efforts to build equitable ecosystems for communities across the globe. GCDC is also a NCBA P6 Abassador Council member.
ICM/Co-op Nation is one such project among many, allowing her to combine two of her four passions in the form of International Co-op Media Group, (ICMG) a BIPOC and women-owned digital media, new media, and creative co-op incubator. She is President of DigiCo Global Business Solutions, an organization dedicated to integrating digital literacy, digital solutions, automation, data intelligence, and content creation into the workflows and communication of solopreneurs, small businesses, co-opreneurs, and those traditionally denied access to the big tech, that often drive the evolution of business while influencing communities of color. Digico Global exists to help small businesses and community members become catalysts of change, innovation, and creativity which drive and determine that a community can control their own destiny through education and the appropriate utilization and innovation of digital technology solutions.
Digico Global is member of Columinate Consulting Co-op. During her time as a Co-op General Manager, Ahzjah also served on the National Co-op Grocers Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of their inaugural DEI committee. She also served on the Georgia Organics Board and currently serves on the Board of GCDC alongside her Co-Director Audrey Griffin, as a P6 ambassadors for the National Cooperative Business Association's P6 Ambassador's council.
